The Duke Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology is the Southeast’s regional referral center for hyperbaric medicine, and is internationally recognized for its research in the areas of carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, and oxygen toxicity. Duke Dive Medicine is the only hyperbaric facility in North Carolina accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society and the first in North America to receive accreditation “With Distinction.” Its physicians are board certified in the specialty of hyperbaric medicine. Emergency Inquiries – DiveAssure members and partners can now call Duke Dive Medicine any time of day or night with diving-related emergency inquiries

The DDM – A package that expands the medical coverage provided by DiveAssure programs with additional medical consultation and oversight (See the next section for more details)

|
|
|
Claims and Emergencies Consultation – Duke Dive Medicine will be available to DiveAssure’s emergency and claims service providers for consultation and advice on all medical aspects of diving accidents
|

|
|
|
Non-Emergency Hotline – All members can call DiveAssure during business hours with inquiries related to diving safety. Questions will be answered by staff from DiveAssure and Duke.

The DDM Package
|
|

A new and innovative program is available exclusively through DiveAssure. The DDM Package gives members additional medical consultation by Duke Dive Medicine.

The DDM Package is included in the Diamond program (both single-trip and multiple-trip) in all new registrations.
Existing Diamond members can upgrade to a new membership that includes the DDM Package.
The DDM package will be available for purchase for Gold and Platinum members, and as a stand-alone program as of April 1st.

Dear Members,
DiveAssure was founded 8 years ago with a burning ambition at heart; we set to bring to the diving industry innovation that we felt was missing. We undertook to lead the diving accident and dive-travel insurance market with state-of-the-art technology, professional conduct and first rate service. We were the first to register our members on-line with instant coverage, the first to offer Primary coverage and also the first (and to this day – the only) to offer a combined diving accident and dive-travel protection policy.
The agreement we have signed with the Duke Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology at Duke University takes us to the next level. We are now able to provide our members with the best emergency medical attention available in the United States. Additionally, our latest “first” – the DDM Package – is nothing less than revolutionary.

Existing Diamond members – You are welcome to renew your membership online today for the new Diamond that includes the DDM package. To do so – use either the “renew” or the “upgrade” option in your member portal.
Existing Gold and Platinum members – You can upgrade to the Diamond program right away and the DDM Package will be included in your membership. As of April 1st you will be able to add the DDM Package to your existing Gold or Platinum program at a reduced rate of $37.5
Non-Members will be able to purchase the DDM Package as of April 1st at $75.
