bullet Market Conditions

If we were chasing the market up as I reported in our last eNews letter, we have since chased it down. However I do believe we have seen the bottom, at least for a while.

Since our last report lumber as a composite is down about 29%. Panel products are down about 30% as a composite. Like I said previously, I think we have seen the bottom.

As of today both eastern and western spruce printed up slightly over last week. Southern yellow pine was flat to up a few dollars. 2x10 was the biggest mover for the second consecutive week.

The panel report doesn’t come out until later today but as of last week it was pretty flat. I think we will see more of the same in the plywood market, maybe a slight move up. The OSB market will probably print up 5 dollars or so as it did last week.

New Telephone System

Don Owens
Nancy Phillips:
Controller
Espy will be changing our telephone system in the near future. The advantage to our customers will be that, while we will retain our main line phone numbers, employees will have individual personal phone numbers which you can dial direct without having to go through the switchboard. We also will be able to transfer calls from one store to the other so you will not have to hang up and dial again if the person you are looking for is not at the store you called.

Everyone will have their personal numbers soon so ask those you deal with frequently to provide you with their Direct Dial number.

Add more livability to a screen porch, gazebo or pool enclosure with PGT Eze-Breeze sliding panels. They are versatile, strong and easy to operate. The verticle 4-track system offers ventilation when open letting in the breeze while keeping the insects out. Closed, they provide protection from the ever-changing weather. The strong 10-mil vinyl glazing is lighter in weight and more affordable than glass. If distorted it will return to its original form. If cut, it can easily be replaced.
